Reopening Planned for Bang Salon

Governor Abbott recently announced salons can open this Friday May 8th, TEN days earlier than his previous phase-in plan. While we are certainly anxious to get back into the salon, we have decided that we will stay with the original plan of the week of MAY 18th.  Our reasons are many, but these are the most pressing:

  • Guidelines for reopening will greatly affect staff scheduling and create staffing limitations. As a result, our team needs this additional time to rebuild schedules and then begin the huge task of calling two months worth of appointments to get them plugged back in. This will take time. We appreciate your patience and will get to you just as soon as we can.
  • We are also waiting on necessary PPE and sanitation supplies that are enroute or back-ordered to arrive before we can open. We want to be fully prepared both for your safety and ours.

If you currently have an appointment scheduled before May 18th, we have canceled it and placed your name on our call-back list. We believe it is only fair that those who were cancelled first (mid-March) are called first, so we will be working the cancellation list in that manner.

If you have an upcoming appointment on or after May 18th, we may have to adjust that date and time due to the impending schedule changes.

There is a great deal of work for us to do as well. Implementing additional sanitation protocols, maintaining social distancing, proper PPE usage…the list is really long. My team has been working daily at their homes, online, and via video to build new systems for us to be ready to welcome you back.Here are some preliminary guidelines for reopening (subject to change):

  • By appointment only. No walk ins and we can not ‘squeeze’ you in under these guidelines. Pre-scheduled appointments are required.
  • If you are feeling ill, or have been showing symptoms of COVID-19, please call to reschedule your appointment and stay home.
  • No additional guests or children will be allowed in the salon during your appointment.
  • Call us at (512) 514-1141‬ when you arrive in the parking lot. We’ll let you know when your service provider is ready before you enter the salon.
  • Temperature checks will be conducted upon check-in. Anyone registering 100° or above will need to reschedule their appointment to a later date.
  • Questionairre – our staff will be asking a few questions about your health and travel.
  • Please, no large handbags. Bring in only what you need and can fit in your lap.
  • MASKS ARE REQUIRED* to enter the facility for all guests and all team members. NO EXCEPTIONS! Please bring your own mask. Refusal to wear a mask while in our facility will require you to reschedule your appointment. *?????? ???????? ????? ????? ???? ??????????? ???? ?? ???????? ??? ?? ??? ????? ??? ??? ??????? ????. (Masks are a drag for all of us but they are required in this Phase of reopening.) If you’ve forgotten yours, we will have a small supply on hand so that you may purchase one.
  • Verbal Greetings Only! Air High-fives are permitted. Hugs will have to wait a little longer!
  • Clients are required to sanitize or wash their hands upon check-in.
  • We will be exercising social distancing by using stations spaced 6 feet apart.
  • One service provider to one guest. This means we will not be double booking and again, we can NOT squeeze you in.
  • DRY CUTS ONLY. Please come to the salon with clean, dry hair. Shampooing will be allowed for color clients only.
  • NO BLOW DRYS. Blow dry services are paused for now to prevent the forceful movement of air and the unwanted spreading of germs.
  • NO CASH or CHECKS will be accepted. We will gladly accept credit cards, Google Pay or Apple Pay.
  • SANITIZE+DISINFECT. We will be booking extra time between services in order to clean/disinfect each station—even more than we normally would. Our entire staff has completed certification classes during this ‘pause’ so that we can be on top of all the rigorous requirements to keep a clean and healthy facility for us all.
  • CANCELLATION POLICY – Our automated confirmation system begins communicating with you by text and/or email 3 days prior to your appointment. This gives you ample time for confirming, or making changes so we may offer your spot to another guest.
    • Changes within 24 hours of your appointment may result in you being charged a portion of your booked appointment.
    • ‘No Show’ appointments (didn’t call and failed to show up, leaving a gap in our calendar) will be charged the full amount of the booked appointment and will be added to the end of our call back list.

 

My team is out in the world just like everyone right now: working from home, 24/7 with kiddos, homeschooling, no daycare in sight, getting back into the workplace with the general public under still uneasy circumstances, etc. They deserve a carefully laid out plan that provides a safe place to the best of our abilities. ❤️
